Welcome to Dixie Bee Elementary School, home of the BEES! It is an exciting and rewarding job to be the principal of this fine school.\u00a0 I am beginning my forty-third year in education and am in my thirteenth year as principal of Dixie Bee. I am proud to say I am a product of the Vigo County School Corporation and graduated from Indiana State University in 1978. My teaching career began at Ben Franklin Elementary School where I taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades. I then moved to Honey Creek Middle School where I taught sixth grade and became the assistant principal my last year there. In the fall of 1999 I became the principal of Warren Elementary School and the following year, I became the principal at Fayette Elementary School. Since the fall of 2008 I have been blessed to be the principal of this great school!\u00a0 My husband, David and I, have 2 sons, Chris and Scott, daughters-in-law, Kristy and Katie and two granddaughters, Avery and Carson. We all enjoy spending time together!\u00a0 Please know the entire staff joins me in looking forward to an amazing educational journey this school year! I am happy to be the assistant principal at Dixie Bee Elementary School.\u00a0 I have been an educator in the\u00a0 Vigo County School Corporation for almost 25 years.\u00a0 I have been fortunate enough to teach at the elementary, middle and high school levels in both general and special education.\u00a0 In 2018, I earned by administrator\u2019s license and came to join Mrs. Cassell at Dixie Bee.\u00a0 During the 2020-2021 school year, I was interim principal at West Vigo Elementary School until it closed and I came back to the hive.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Joe and daughters Ellie, Abbie and Audrey.\u00a0 We have three dogs as well as barnyard animals for 4H that keep us very busy, especially in the summertime.\u00a0 I love to share pictures of animals with the students at Dixie Bee and I look forward to a great school year!\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInDown”]\n
